Keep this exhaust or buy new
2002 fxdwg carbureted twin cam or " Twinkie". I think it sounds pretty darn good for a Twinkie.
Still has the original exhaust accept for the SE II slip ons. They are gutted out with a home made baffle welded in. Just a washer to create some back pressure. I think it sounds classic harley all the way. Problem is all the clamps are getting rusty and the crossover pipe is looking bad and making a pinging noise like something is rattled loose in the crossover. Basically it's seen it's better days since it's near 13 years old.
So keep it....or short shts....or big shots

You can get a new retaining ring and inter-connect gasket for your stock head pipes. Also some times you can find nice head pipes cheap in the for sale sections. For the SE mufflers if they're the cycle shack type you can open the spoon baffle to match your engine breathing requirements and get more sound out of 'em. It's very hard to beat the performance of stock head pipes with properly set up SE mufflers.
Personally I don't like the whistling sound from washers on bolts.
Also I would turn up the idle to at least 950.
