Dyna with engine guard/lower fairing from a touring model?

i saw one some time ago...

Anyone can tell me if it fits bolt on? or do you have to modify it?

From what I was told you have to extend the top mount on the engine guard but the lower parts mounts right up. I'm curious to do this mod myself.

I did this to my Fat Bob; had to trim the lowers a bit and make sure there's no stress on the mounts or they plastic will crack apart in no time. Didn't like the heat, narrowed the engine guard 6", rolled it back and welded it to the former highway peg mounts and now happy.

2 Attachment(s)
they don't bolt right on and will require trimming of about 1/4 on each side maybe a little more, at least that's what it took on my switchback..
Attachment 566112

also they must be notched at the lower engine guard mount area sort of like a rounded off v shape so there is no stress on the lowers from the bars bottom mount...
Attachment 566113

once you get them trimmed and they pop on and off without an issue DONT OVER TORQUE when installing, this is what causes most of them to crack..

did mine 2 years ago and run them 6 months out of the year here in NJ

All i had to do was trim the bottoms, nothing on the tops.

I take them off in the summer, throw them back on in the winter. Great in the rain and cold.

I trimmed the upper part as 1HD1C shows, in order to clear the neck and downtubes. Didn't modify anything on the bottom. I take them off for summer but I remove the engine guard and attached lowers as one assembly.

Thanks man, Its got a new paint job now with matched lowers. Hard to see the panels.

I still have the highway pegs on so I'd guess you could still fit forwards.
