You don't have to downshift off the line if your not afraid to rev this thing up and able to handle it.

How you gonna down shift coming off the line?
thanks for the cam info. I wonder if woods cam up with the specs on his? Cheaper than I thought.

Well, as the gentleman below said, I’ll add to it. I leave on my xl at 8000rpm. The rpm never drops below 6900-7000 rpm on a launch, street it strip if I’m getting after after it. Lock up or stock clutch, either or. If one knows how to come off the line at the strip or stop light that’s where it’s at. Imho the dyno sheet is really impressive. It just keeps pulling through out the entire rpm range.

Your typical BT falls off at 4000-4500 and that’s where you’ll get spanked in an all out drag race on the street or strip. The bike will out perform some mediocre build if you keep the r’s up a bit more and not depend on 1800 rpm roll ons.

This dyno sheet is one for an aggressive rider. The turds that fall off off at 4 grand are for non aggressive riders imho.

Ever see a 143CI AMRA Outlaw Street dyno sheet that runs 8.30s @ 160mph?

Of course if what you are looking for is power, real power, you’re looking at the wrong platform for it.
Save a ton of money, time and development and simply drop by your local metric or European motorcycle shop and pick up your choice Super/Sport bike that wiil keep your eyes wide open all the way to top speeds of 185+ mph.
I just don’t understand why guys spend 10k on top of the stock bike to almost stay with street legal virtual racing bikes.
The fix is not only smart but more economical in the end:
1 Harley of choice for enjoying the ride/day.
1 Hayabusa (or other rocket bike) for enjoying the need to change your underwear.

Apologies to the OP, just adding to another members question...

I used his Evo W8 cam for my timing base and moved the opening/closing degrees on both the intake and exhaust to create a torque curve that would come in sooner and carry out further without losing the scavenging affect of the exhaust to help the HP carry out... I've always used Woods cams, I like the aggressive ramp characteristics of his cams and the amount of lift@tdc.... Some people say his cams are noisy but if you set the lifter preload properly it won't be an issue.. keep in mind I don't mess with Twinkies and the largest Evo that I've built is a 96"er.. here the sheet of my build.. it's with an S&S E carb that ran out up top, I since went with a G that carries the HP out a little better to 111 with out losing the torque...

Hope this helps...
