Default Sputter sputter park NO POWER

I hope I am on the right forum here. If not please move it.

Riding today and never had a problem with my 07 Street Bob. I was riding with a buddy averaging 40-60 mph and my bike started sputtering like it was trash in the fuel. I had just filled up and thought it was trash in the gas. Sputtered twice about five or six different times. Parked it long enough for two slow beers and when I went to start it there was no power, period. No headlight, taillight, no indicator lights, nothing. Just put a new battery in it a couple of months ago.

I did my due diligence and searched the forum and it seems I need to check the maxi fuse and/or the main fuse and after that start looking for bad wires and loose or broken connections.

Am I on the right track or does anyone have some advice that is better than my ouiji board?

Check all battery connections, make sure they are clean and secure.

Charge battery and have it load tested.

Sounds to me like somethings draining your battery --- but you need to check every thing you said and charge and check battery on a load tester also

Yeah, I did check the connections. It was getting dark so I put it on the trailer and came home. I didn't really consider the battery since it is almost new but I will do that today.

I would check the charging system as well. You say you put a new battery in couple months ago. Charge it up, then try and start it. Check to see how many volts, while the engine is running, directly on the battery. Should be near 14 volts. Don't know how old the other battery was, could be you have a bad stator.
