ignition wiring straightened out
It has been bugging me since I got the bike (used). 94 FXSTC
It has a 6 pole 4 position ignition switch,
When I turned the switch to ignition, I'd get all the lights but no ignition
When I turn it to lights, I'd retain lights and get ignition.
So today I had some time and starting jumping stuff out to see what went where.
1 o'clock is power with a jumper to 5 o'clock (only ones that were right) Tan
4 o'clock was lights (wrong) Blue
10 o'clock was ACC with a jumper to 7 o'clock (wrong) Orange
11 o'clock was ignition (wrong) Red
Now
1 o'clock with jumper to 5 o'clock. Power Tan
4 o'clock with jumper to 7 o'clock. ACC Orange
10 o'clock is now ignition. Red
11 o'clock (without yellow factory jumper to 10 o'clock which I can always add) is now lights Blue
Now if I want to start it or leave the headlight off I have that option. Not for riding obviously, but I hate being told what to do. I like keeping my options open.
