Default Need help finding parts!

I am currently fixing up my sisters old 1992 sportster 883. It has been in storage for the last ten years and needs a little love to get back on the road. I just got it running again so now I'm on to cosmetics. There is a visor on the speedometer that is all dried up and cracking. It looks like it is made of rubber coated foam. I have looked everywhere for a replacement but I can only find chrome ones. I'd like to either find the same one or a metal one that is black. Any help would be appreciated! I've included some pics for reference.

You can track stock parts using an on-line parts website. I suspect that visor is an add-on, possibly aftermarket, I certainly don't recall ever seeing one! In the short-term it may be best to simply remove it, which you can do by taking the speedo out of the housing, then refitting.

As your query is Sporty specific you may get better results posting this in the Sportster section, where many more members will see it.

this site has a full parts breakdown for most models. however; i'm not seeing that as an option for a '92. al xl models are showing a speedo and tach together

As I said above, I reckon it is an add-on, not a stock part, which is why I gave you that link. Post again in the Sportster section, to see if anyone over there can help.

It is an ad on, not oem. I think JP cycles had them at one time. YD

I notice that the handlebar clamp and risers are reversed from the setup on my FXD...the wide spaced fasteners and speedo/tach housing are mounted towards the front and not rear like in your photo...
