Default Fused Block Added to Ultra Classic

I felt I had too many connections at the positive terminal of the battery so I added a 4 terminal fused block. This allowed me to remove the inline fuses further cleaning up the battery area. Basically an 8 AWG wire from the battery terminal to the fuse block which has a BT 4180 amp, trickle charger, and wire for heated gear connected to it. Hope this helps anyone who is thinking of doing the same thing. Battery before fuse block install.
The battery after connections were moved to the fuse block. Perfect place to mount the fuse block which was under the left side cover below the seat. The battery is located just behind it.

This is the kind of stuff that you look for when buying a used bike, a sign that the electrical system was well taken care of.

Nice job.

Thanks. As much money we have in these bikes they are an investment so makes sense to take care of them even if it's things like this that make life a little easier.

Where did you pick up the fuse block from? Like the way you did the mod.

Amazon, see the pic. I did two mods to the block. I returned the #10 stud with an M6 button head as the ring terminal for the 8 gauge wire was a bit bigger. That required two new nuts and lock washers (I chose to use all stainless). The back of the fuse block has a bunch of recesses so I used back RTV to fill them all in and have a flat surface for the heavy duty 3M tape to adhere to.

A friend said an optional speaker for the alarm mounts in the area I used for the block.

ssgunny,

What did you do for all the ground wires. Looks cleaned up on the battery also.

That is a great addition and idea.
I did the same kind of thing for lights and accessories on my RZR. Amazon was a great resource to find everything I needed.

The amp is grounded at the triple tree as suggested by the manufacturer. I ran a jumper from there to a spot on the frame since I have read some have had issues with that grounding point.

The connection for the charger and heated gear is one ring terminal as I doubled them up and crimped them together. I think the ring terminal was sized for 12 gauge wire and it came with the fused block. I couldn't use it since I was using an 8 gauge wire for the fuse block.
