Default Garage door opener help

i just purchased an aftermarket LED headlight and my garage door opener stopped working. I spliced it in the same way it was on the factory light. The garage opener will work when the headlight is not plugged in. When I plug in the light works but not the opener. Any advice would be appreciated.

I will try that. I think I'd have to tap into something that uses a momentary switch though. The opener uses the high beam switch. I suppose I could use the horn.

***UPDATE***
i started checking everything with a circuit tester and found that when I disengage the high beam, the power does not immediately terminate, it sort of fades off. This must be messing with the opener. Still looking for ideas to outsmart this thing.

add a momentary switch
add a relay for beam, once relay drops, power is cut instantly.
