Question XL 1200 Low
Greetings,
I am having issues with the turn signals, horn and headlight. It seems like if I wiggle this connector, the lights and horn work. I have to maintain pressure for the lights and horn to work. How can I test it to order the wiring harness? Or should I just get a pig tail male/female connector instead? and lastly, what type of connector is it? The big connector is a Delphi connector, how tight is the wiring pulling on the connector? You may want to see if you have a recessed pin or 2 in the connector that is not making full contact otherwise get ready to change the connector.

unplug that connector and plug it back in again. If that doesn't work unplug that connector and make sure the pins are all good. Although that connector only operates the turn signals and a few other things...i didnt think it ran the headlights. and only on one side? at least on my bike theres one of those plugs per side, each one runs a different turn signal and different things that are on the cluster.

Blue white and yellow wires are headlamp wires.

Much appreciated. I am hoping that the pins are the problem. |
All the pins seem to be tight on the loose end of the connector. But, how do I detach the other half of the connector from the black tray.. the manual shows how to pry the connectors open but it not showing how to detach it....
one more question, using the volt/ohm meter how do I test it? Thanks againhttps://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...8d44f13fd0.jpg |
Usually there is either a slip pin or a press pin holding it in place. If it is a slip pin, pull it toward where the other half of the connector would be, press is just a pry down.
