Default High / Low Switch Mod

Hi all,

First post here.

I would like to move the high/low switch wires to the aux switch on the fork tree and wire up the High/low handle bar switch to flash the turn signal lights when approaching intersections etc. so cars will take notice of me a little better. Has anyone done this before. I have a 2005 Road King.

thanks in advance

Not sure that it is possible without additional equipment, the flash of the turn signals is controlled by the TSM or the TSSM. You will need some sort of aftermarket flash module to flash the turn signals, I would suggest getting an auxiliary switch that attaches below the handlebar switch mount rather than try to rewire the existing switches. Although I would think that it would be more confusing to other drivers rather than getting more attention when approaching intersections. If you really want to do so why not just use the Hazard light feature when approaching intersections?

cagers do not pay attention. flashing turn light will totally confuse them. they make headlight modules that will wink which is brighter and less confusing. with a little tom terrific hat magic, could use a time delay relay that is triggered by a brake application or turn application and will self cancel, get adjustable delay.

Drivers will think your turning, and then turn in front of you. Might be illegal as well, certainly dumb though.

Just make sure the lights you have are the brightest you can find. Many options for that but no option will solve inattentive drivers.

this would be a better option, just throw tracers and no live ammo.

OP I know you didn't ask if it was a good idea or not but these ^ fellows are right. Wiring the turn signals so you can flash them to be more visible sounds like an excellent way to confuse a driver and have a crash.

I'd add more lighting before I messed with the turn signals. Perhaps you could add the DK Custom driving lights under the floor boards like I did. I have those, my spots, and my main headlight on bright during the day. All Led's. If you cant see me, you had your eyes closed.
