Fuse Starting the Altenator

Hello All, I have a conundrum:

I replaced my battery after trickle charging, set the positive then the negative terminals. I had taken out the main fuse to work on the bike (40 for the roadster).

When I reinsert the main fuse, however, the alternator starts to kick in as though I was hitting the ignition. The keys are not in the ignition however, or even on the bike.

Any ideas what might be going on here?

Are you confusing a fuse with a relay?

You need to explain what you mean by this, it makes no sense...

when I insert the yellow fuse the bike start clicking like it does when you hit the ignition, or when your battery is too weak to start the engine.

Unhook the wires at the start solenoid and see if it was THAT solenoid clicking

Maybe the relay clicking issue is what killed the battery

Well, you either pinched the start wire to ground OR
HEY, what's that black wire with the open eyelet doing? It's not connected to anything.
