It may be worth pulling and cleaning your Vehicle Speed Sensor / VSS as I have read several threads indicating similar behavior to what you are experiencing.

Some photos here of where it is located.

VSS cleaned.
No response.

Spent $72 on a new VSS.
That was NOT the problem.
Any new ideas?
