Pin outs
Hi all,
I purchased a 2016 FLHP at last years Daytona Bike Week. Was in the right place at the right time with money in my pocket! I have been upgrading ever since a little at a time. New Slip ons, new 2 up seat, new Led Headlight and Spots.
Next up is the replacement speedometer from Harley. It's a new 2 in 1 with the speedometer and tach in one unit. I want to take out the Tach (located in the tank) and install the new tach and speedo in its place. The current speedo is located on the handlebars. This of course will be removed also and stored away. My problem is that I cannot find a schematic for the wiring of the speedo and tach. What pins do what, and where do they go, and their color codes. I know that I will have to redo the wiring as this is definitely not plug and play! Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the diagrams, now can you tell me what each switch does on the left and right side on the handgrips. I am speaking of the red push buttons that toggle left and right. Can these be used as switches for lighting circuts that I want to add to the bike? Currently the right toggle operates the spots and is kinda weird. Push it in and the spots light, but on the dash a green light and yellow light alternate back and forth. if I push the switch to the right the flashing stops and stays green. Spots do not go off until I push the button in again. Any ideas as to what I'm getting into here?
Thanks for any input you can give.

Aside from the 2016 Service Manual, there is a supplementary Service Manual for Police Motorcycles. In your case, it is PN 99855-16
You can enter the VIN or your bike here and get access to the Owners Manual https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...your-bike.html
Or here https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson....edure%3D498273
The Supplement Manual provides the description of the switches and associated functions each performs. The siren/lights functions are programmed into the BCM (Body Control Module) which is different from a stock FL. So if you plan to repurpose those switches you may want to check with your local dealer for guidance or give Harley Tech Support a call?

No one in the Daytona area wants to get involved.
