Default Tri-bar Facia/Controller Light pre2014 vs 2014-2018

Ok so I've beaten my head against the wall and still can't get my brake light to work on the new 2018 Road Glide fender (complete with 2018 tri-bar and taillight) that I'm trying to put on my 2012 Street Glide. I have verified 12 volts for brake light all the way to the to tri-bar controller and turn and running lights work fine so the only thing I can conclude is the tri-bar controller is different from pre-2014 compared to 2014 -2018. I looked up part numbers on Ronnie's and verified that the pre-2014 part number is 69377-10 and the 2014-2018 is 59600008. Now I've seen in the past that different part numbers didn't always mean different parts. I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light (pun) on this. Thank you! Please help!
