I recently purchased a 2000 softail. I adjusted the handlebars to be more comfortable (moved them forward) and after I found that the starter would no longer respond to the button. The left turn signal is not working (might be unrelated, not sure if that worked before) I jumped the starter relay and it will turn over but not actually run. And, before you ask, the kill switch is in the run position. I’m wondering if this at all common or if i just need to diagnose it from scratch?

this is exactly what happened. After taking the control off It appears the wires have been pinched for quite some time and my adjustment was the straw that broke the camels back.
