Default Garage Door Opener Setup

Hi everyone. I’ve been looking through and enjoying many of the posts on this forum. While browsing yesterday I noticed many to do with setting up your bikes to open the garage doors. Harley’s method, although works well is pretty expensive. I came across the below product a few years ago. I installed it on my previous harley. Its very affordable and works great. I haven’t seen anyone make mention of this on the forum. Hopefully this will help all of you.

I installed it on my 18 Street Glide Special. Easy install and works great.

Welcome from Central Wisconsin. It's rare to see a new member offer a useful tip in their first post. You're going to fit in just fine.

You know, a trip reset switch from a pre-CanBUS model bike could be used in a normal or a key chain transmitter mounted under the dash or in the faring. This method wold only require a 1/2" hole to be drilled and you wire the momentary switch to the switch points on the key chain transmitter push button. You can then find a place to put it and it will be weather resistant. Clear RTV will weather seal the transmitter.

From what I gather, the OP's device can be had for roughly the same price as an OEM reset switch, with the added benifits of no hole drilling, nor removing hands from bars to activate.

OP’s switch is cool, $25 + $4 for shipping on eBay. Odometer switch is $12. With both you still need a transmitter.
idid mine 4 years ago.

I installed a "Flash2pass" unit inside the headlight and wired it to the high beam switch. No drilling and no extra switches needed. Used the same base module and added transmitters to several other cars. Anything that supply 2 quick hits of 12 volts to the transmitter in the vehicle.

Did you order your flash2pass on amazon or from their website directly?
