Default Shelf life of a new battery

I bought a new battery for my Street Glide in December with plans on installing it in January. Time got away from me and I didn't get to it till last night. Is it possible this fully charged brand new battery went dead on me, sitting on my garage shelf for three months?

Possible, yes. Probable, no. Have you installed it, and the bike has no power? Have the battery load tested at your local auto parts store. If it's bad it is probably under warranty. If it is good, then time to start chasing down where you are losing power.

Check the voltage and properly charge it before installation.

Ed has it right. Also use smart charger that is at least one amp.
