Default USB charging options for a '17 Road King?

Need a way to be able to charge a phone, gps unit, and gopro on my '17 Road King. I was thinking of getting a 2 port usb connection but have questions as to where it would be wired into.

The HD Tech told me there's an unused wire connection "in the steering column" that could be wired into. Wiring to the battery is also an option?

Thanks in advance for any help or Forum Links!

Pull your headlight and look about 6" back on the harness for an orange wire with a white stripe and a black wire along with it. if you have it, the orange wire is your positive, black is negative and it will be a " switched' power setup. Headlight on you have power, light off , no juice....

I went this route

HD P/N 69201599A

gives you on/off power with the ignition, plugs into the wiring harness under the right fairing cover at the ABS module, lift the tank to run the wire to the front and you have two USB plugs you can now use

It's not? There's four wires in that upper grouping. Two of those wires are Orange/White and the other is Black. I'll check again.

Thanks for the reply. Would this discharge the battery when the bike's off by plugging into the wiring harness you mentioned?

no, that's the reason for installing it, there is no power to the devices when the ignition is turned off
