08 sporty tail light delete
 

I have an 08 sportster 883 with the huge VW looking tail light. I’m wanting to chop the fender and convert the signals to be brake/running/turn signals. Harley sells a kit with the fender and all the goodies but its 500$. I can chop the fender myself so all I see needing is the wiring harness (part #68278-07) but I haven’t done any wiring work before. Is this really all i would need if I can do the work to the existing fender? Is this truly a “plug and play” harness and as easy as it is advertised in the kit? Thanks in advance.

well, hd advertises it as such but at 100 bucks, quite pricey.
they have trailer modules and i believe made under the name of "hoppy" that will do the same but around 30 bucks but then you will have to splice into factory wiring, no biggy if you follow directions.
