Sportster wiring help
 

I have a 2008 Harley Davidson Sportster 883 Low. I bought it 4 months ago and it ran perfect until a couple days ago. When I turn the key, all the lights come on but it won’t turn over when I press the ignition switch. And the ignition fuse blows out every time the bike starts. I’m not good with wiring so can anyone help with this problem please

You have a tank lift a wire tuck and a relocated key......check the wires to to key and pop the tank off and have a good look at the wires. Its a little tight in there for all the wires maybe one has rubbed through causing a short.

If no problems found in the wiring it might be worth it to check out the starter solenoid or the starter itself - winding or coil may have shorted on itself or to ground.

Got to get the nomenclature correct when explaining a problem.

The ignition switch is on the left side of your bike.

The engine run switch (also known as kill switch) is on the right hand control.

The start button is on the right hand control.

Does it make any sound when you press the start button?

Please clarify, you said the engine will not crank...
