My 2014 limited ABS acted up the other day. When I pulled the front break lever it sorta kicked back a little then it felt like it was pulsating rapidly
until the bike stopped. At that time my bike through 2 codes 1, C1021, ABS Front WSS Always Zero and U0121 Lost Comm W/ABS.
I'm thinking change the front WSS and ABS wheel bearing.
I'd check the wires running to the wheel sensor first then go from there...sensor and bearing. The sensor can probably be checked with a voltage meter, electrical manual or maybe one of the many smart people here will give you the procedure. The bearing is cheap enough so I'd just order a set and replace both...make sure you follow that procedure and install the abs correctly.

Thanks for the response,
I did test WSS with a multimeter. Set on AC current, spun wheel and got nothing .checked for resistance....nothing.
If you look at the schematic and read the test you can figure out which wires they mean. Look at test 1 and 2 for ABS all your doing is looking for power on wires 17 and 1 to ground.
Test 3 is just verifying the CAN Buss wire isn't broken so your checking continuity between it and the Data Link Connector.
You can do all this with out the interface.

thanks, I did figure it out and will test this evening.

Couldn't find anything. I replaced the WSS. Still throws c1021. I didn't replace bearing. should I ?
I owned an Indian with ABS . Only reason I had bought it was I just had to have the two tone color. Indians are like an Japanese built American MC. No Character, too much excess crap. What was I thinking?. Sold the bike. Bought a clean low mileage 16 FXDB. NO ABS. I’ve rode MCs and wrenched for a living for 50 yrs.Owned 31+ MCs. Never had a problem using both brakes in a panic, wet or otherwise sketched situation. I will never own another bike w/ABS. More $hit to go wrong-and if you bleed the brakes when it comes time be careful to keep reservoir full, least it will cost $150 to have system hooked up to a computer to cycle the ABS unit. You might anyway as these systems seem to give trouble just for the hell of it: HD or Indian, just my 2 cents.
