Default Polarizing A Generator

How to polarize a generator on older bikes

With the generator and regulator hooked up as usual and a fully charged battery, make a jumper wire and temporarily connect one end to the generator "Armature" terminal . Momentarily touch the other end to the positive terminal of the battery and if everything is OK mechanically, this should do it, and it should charge now.
