Default 2001 softail standard FXSTD won't start frustrating

Ok here it is

2001 won't start. I have no spark on the secondary side of the coil pack I have bench tested the coil pack 0.5 ohms resistance primary side, 5600 ohms secondary side. Even replaced the coil pack just for the fun of it. I have checked the electronic control module with a buddy who has a 2002 and his bike fired up with my ECM installed. I replaced the battery, spark plugs and plug wires. i replaced the ignition circuit breaker, and the crank position sensor. I have checked all the wiring with an ohm meter resistance test. Trying to figure this one out any suggestions would be helpful.

This is a long shot, but what about the on/ off switch on the handle bars? Is there a ignition circuit breaker on this bike?

I have checked the switch, thought the same thing you did, but i am getting 12 volt to, and through the switch when toggled, toggle is working properly, and all the wiring connections are secure and in good condition. Even rebuilt a carburetor thinking I might of had a fuel issue at first.

Well here's what I would do. You say no spark. Are you getting voltage to the coil? If yes check to see it you are getting voltage to the pickup (plate in the nose cone or cam cover). If you are getting voltage in those to places and no spark then take the pickup cover off and turn the motor over to make sure the rotor that is for the ignition pickup is turning inside the cam cover. I forgot to ad If you take the pickup plate off, make sure you put an indicator mark so when you replace it, it goes in the exact same place. It you don't you will have to time your bike with a timing light. I'm used to working on evolution. So I'm thinking your twin cam is carbureted, Its the same set up.

If I think I understand you correctly your saying take the cam cover off and check the cam shaft position sensor for voltage ? ignition pickup. ( PIP ) If so after 2000 they removed this sensor and went to the crankshaft position sensor for 2001 and up for the ignition pick up, but I have replaced this. I'm going to replace the MAP sensor this weekend, that will cover everything in the ignition system that has been replaced. Someone mentioned checking the bank sensor ( BAS ) , saying that could have gone bad ?

Still frustrated!!

OK, I'm sorry bro, I didn't know they put all that emissions bullshit on the carbureted 2001. I have a 1999 evolution softail and it has no cam shaft position sensor, no bank or a map sensor. Its a little over my head. You might want to check YouTube to see if there is any videos on it.

You have a TSM turn signal / security module , it gives the ignition enable signal ( pin 10 LGN\GY wire ) to the ignition module ( pin 10 on the black connector LGN\GY wire ) that triggers the ignition module to fire the coil from pins 6 and 7 Blue \ org stripe and Y\ blue stripe .

My advise would be save the money on the MAP sensor cause the 2 key components to fire the coil are the TSM and ignition module. TSM is also where your bank sensor is.

You didn't mention if the motor is turning over or not , I'm guessing it is ?
