Default Cam suggestion for 14 RK

I have a 14 RK with open dresser pipes and fishtails. The 14 cams I'm told are similar to the 255. I feel it pulls hard in the low gears but loses some in the higher gears. Can anyone recommend a good cam. I use a power vision tuner. Thanks.

The higher gears do make the engine work a little harder. The gear selection shouldn't matter as much as the RPM's that you are running.

The Andrews 57H's have gotten good press as just a bolt in cam as well as a few others.

Are you considering any head work? I will let those more knowledgeable about the subject chime in on the head work but from what I have seen on the dyno charts is head work that compliments the cam you are going to run can extend and flatten the curve out letting the engine pull longer into the higher RPM range.

Just put TMan 555 tqs in mine and they are great. Great upgrade from the stock cams. Don't have the dyno sheet in front of me right now but I think I ended up with 96hp and 111ft lbs.

If you have a wethead then the 57 will be a great bolt in for sure, remember that the compression on a wethead is 10.1 and 9.7 on the air cooled engines which will make the 57 just a tad bit softer but would still work, especially with a good 2-n-1 exhaust combo. Another great bolt in is the andrews 48 or the Woods 222's. Here's my chart on the 57's comparing the different exhaust combo I went with now which is a Rush Wrath.

T-man 555 torquester, great cam for that application. As for the fishtails? to be honest I have yet to see a set on the dyno that produced any gains other than the amount of noise.

A Wood 6-6 would be a very good choice.
