Default curious. 110ci and 117ci kit questions?

So in light of Harleys new 117ci engine kit i was wondering a couple things. I know if i buy a brand new 2016 Harley with the HO 103 engine i can get the 110ci kit for it . So does that mean i can then get the 117ci for it since its a 110 now. IF so Cant you just go from the 103ci right too the 117ci.?? If not then im guessing the factory Screaming Eagle 110ci is different then just the 110ci kit? I looked at the kits it looks like mainly new uppers and cams for the most part. So whats the real deal??

You can only go from 103 to 110 with the bolt on kit. If you had a 110 from the factory you could do the 117 bolt on. The 110 from the factory comes with a 4" bore and the cases have had the spigots opened to accommodate the larger cylinders.

We use S&S 4 1/8" cylinders here for our clients 117", and 124" engines.
Built 13, 4 1/8" bore engines, here, since mid-December.

I believe the bottom of the sleeves on the bolt on 110 kit are milled thin enough to fit the 96/103 bottom ends . the OEM 110 will accept the thicker sleeve that would be on the larger kits .

They can't be the same, the spigot on a stock 103 is smaller than the stock 110. The cases for a 110 which has a 4" bore, have been bored to accept that larger spigot. Who knows, maybe the CVO for 2017 will be 117 or 120 and the 103 will be replace with a 110.

The cylinder liner on both the 110 and 117 kits has been replaced with a high strength steel liner with thinner than OEM spigots. The 110" kit is a drop in for the 96" and 103" cases and the 117" kit is a drop in kit for the 110" cases. Downside, if there is one, is that the cylinders cannot be bored. Pretty slick move on the part of the MoCo to grab a share of the bigger bore aftermarket and with a warranty..........

Smile 110 stage IV tire shredder

I am a new Harley owner by that I mean that I'm new again on a Harley as I owned a Road Glide and 06 and just bought an 09 Electra Glide.
I come from previous bikes (most recent first) Goldwing, Valkyrie, Boss Hoss, Valkyrie, BMW.
So, I now have this Ultra Classic that I am going to play with. found myself an excellent Harley mechanic (retired) who loves to play.
So, I bought the stage IV kit (Tire Shredder).
Anyone out there now what I will be expecting? Should put out 115lbs of tourque and 115 HP. Should be a fun bike.

There is no Stage IV Tire Shredder kit. There are two Stage V Tire Shredder kits; 92600038 Stage V and 92500037 Pro Stage V. The main difference between the two is the 10.2 pistons vs 10.5 pistons. 115/115 should be easy from the Stage V kit and I have seen dyno sheets showing 125/125 from the Pro Stage V kit. Those sheets have been posted in another thread.
