oil leaking from breather hose

I changed oil a little while back and put in lucas synthetic , I have been running reg rev tech non synthetic, well now I have noticed that I am starting to blow oil out of the breather tube into my air filter, could it be caused by the synthetic or do you guys feel that it is valves or rings blowing by, nothing out the exhaust and bike runs great, . greatly appreciate your opinions

Thanks for your help

Some oil is not uncommon. Is the level correct? Have you been running it longer in higher rpms on my 116 stroker my catch can was emptied and cleaned once a month on my 120 i didnt worry about cleaning it unless i was hammering on it and kept the rpms high. The motor has to breath.

A little too much oil in the crankcase is your problem. Take a turkey baster or syringe and pull about a cup of oil out.

Is the bike a softail? If so, real easy to over fill since some of the oil from the tank can drain down into the sump and the dipstick gives a false read on level. Start the bike and let it run for a few minutes to get all the oil back in the tank; then check level..............:icon_wink:

Unless you have a bagger with an extra quart. 4 is too much. They seem to like a 1/2 quart low.
