Default SE 204 Cam on a TC88

Does anyone have these cams and how do you like them? They are being installed on my bike as we speak. Also new springs, lifters and the SE Hyd. cam upgrade with better flow oil pump.

I have them in a 06 Fatboy. You will feel a difference from a stage 1 , it will pull nice through the gears for what it is. Mine pulls nice from about 2300- 4500 then falls off. 88s have low compression. That cam needs about 9-5 to 9-8 to see its full potential. You will also like the way it sounds.

Yes I have read lots about the SE204 cam and that's what everyone says about the performance. I cant wait to get my bike back from the shop. I maintain the bike well but this job was a little more than what I wanted to do. Sometimes its worth the dealer doing the work if your not sure of yourself taking on a job.

I love them in my bike. Great sound with my big radius pipes. Nice lumpy idle.

Why the springs?

Are they replacing your inner cam bearings? Sounds like you are having the cam chain tensioner upgrade?

I agree here. Very nice sound, fairly strong through the mid and flat on top. Work great for a lot of people. Dont expect strong over rev

Springs not needed. The SE204 is a very underrated cam but, as has been pointed out, more compression is needed to optimize performance.
