Default Used pistons
Is it ever worth buying used forged pistons ?

Why not? Depends on the price, condition of the pistons; the price would have to be right and the pistons would have to be in good physical condition and within manufacturers specification. I am currently running a set of used JE pistons in my all bore 107" motor. Pistons had been run 1000 miles, skirts showed that. We measured the pistons and they were up to spec and the price was right; they were free. They were .010" over, so we just bored cylinders to fit. Got the right ring pack, new locks and 10K miles now with no issues.......

Found sone weisco that look new along with cylinders. But they want $140 for them so was just asking. Not sure if they are.worth that.

If they have 2mm oil control ring groves.. Pass. Wiseco was having issue with oil control on them..

The part number is 4678PS-STD they have .098 oil control rings which is 2.4 mm are these the pistons to pass on?

Well. can't find the number in the catalog. IIRc the bad pistons had exactly 2mm oil control ring grooves. Early pistons, that had 2.4mm oil control groove, were ok. Check the skirts for cracks tho. What is the Kit supposed to be for?

Supposed to be a 95" std bore with the 8cc domes. And from the pics skirts look to have zero wear.

These are likely OK assuming the condition is good..





Domes are 15cc..
