By having it tested then getting a set of either then going back in for an install.

does that make sense or am i under thinking this?
I think you got your answer, from the others but I will go ahead and add on.
I used the Feuling tool and came up with .006" runout. With that runnout I made the decision to get the crank worked on by Darkhorse - should have done this check earlier because I could have opted for a 117" build if I had not already bought all the parts for a 107" build.

After making sure everything was clean enough to eat off of, and triple checking the ring gaps I got the pistons installed to cylinders, and cylinders installed to block. Checked at least 15 times that the wrist pin clips were seated fully.

I decided that the machined fins on the cylinders just wasn't going to work for me, so I painted them black. Much better. Heads are just set on for mockup at this point.

The wife and I are flying out Saturday morning to spend the week sitting on the beach in Puerto Penasco, Mexico, so there're won't be any progress for the next week. Still got a ways to go but I'm itchin' to fire this beast up!

Taking some breaks from a build helps prevent mistakes IMHO - you will keep reviewing all the upcoming steps.

Engine looks sweet! Nice high $$ engine stand too, love it!

Yep, plenty of SPF 50...

Managed to get only mildly lobster-like in appearance spending a few days enjoying this view while sipping on cervezas and margaritas.

But, back home and back to the real fun. Spent today installing the cams, oil pump, and cam plate, double and triple checking that everything lined up and that the 3 o-rings were installed.

I think the Screamin' Eagle oil pump and camplate is probably overkill, but I wanted new surfaces for the freshly trued crank to ride on, and figured it couldn't hurt. I considered the S&S setup, but the price of the SE stuff is a little easier to swallow.

Still got to order an air cleaner.

Anybody know if it's possible to make an S&S teardrop fit a SE 58mm throttle body??

Since you are going chains.. Make sure the pinion sprocket fits tight on the crank and that it can't rotate any.
