I have no personal experience with Chris Rivas cams but do know that he has a solid reputation in the vtwin racing community. Whether or not that translates to offering a solid choice for a cam only upgrade to a Stage I 103 is the question which you should probably ask Mr. Rivas.
JMHO but the S&S 585 would be a poor choice for a cam only upgrade to your Stage 1 103" motor; wouldn't start to work until the motor hit 3500rpms. The Andrews 48 would be perfect, IMHO if looking for solid bottom and mid range performance. Woods 222 is another option as would be the TMan 555 Torkster or Andrews 57. Even the SE204 would be a better choice than the S&S 585 but the Andrews 48 was purposely engineered for a bolt in cam upgrade for the 103" motor.

The guy that dyno tuned my bike highly recommended the S&S 551 for my riding style and configuration. So that is what I'm going with. Bike is currently at his shop getting the mods done. I'll reply back with my opinion if you are interested. Not sure how the Andrews 48 compares to the 551 but my gut tells me their both great torque cams.

Yep.
Andrews 48's.
Great plug/play boost for a heavy touring bike, or a rider looking for that low-mid snap.

Of riding and mention the S&S 551 or the Chris Rivas 574. Right now with just a stage 1 I have 75hp & 92tq.
