Are you going to do the work yourself or have a shop do it for you?

My bike is an 01 i used s&s .509 which i believe is about the max you can use with stock springs. Some prople say they have used 525 but if you go that route its recommended to check for coil bind of your valve springs. I also just put CYCO pads on the stock tensioners. Cheaper that wAy. Just have to check them once in a while. Follow your service manual and its not a hard job to do. Just pay attention to the o-rings around the oil passages when putting everything back together. I also used S&S lifters and adjustable pushrods

Do you already have a tuner or is the bike still stock?

You should call S&S and Fuelmoto to discuss a performance package that will include an updated tune and everything thing else you need. I like the S&S 509 for your motorcycle.

Fuelmoto sells these mufflers for a great price if you are trying to keep your costs down.

Either way purchase everything from one vendor and get a map that best matches your setup.

A set of Andrews 21 cams, will bring VERY GOOD low-mid torque into the picture, and if so inclined, later, you can step up the power to a 95-98" engine, bringing the 21's along also with the use of a 1.725 rocker arm.
.509's are also on the very short list for a plug/play 88" cam swap.
