I didn't plan on it.

Can your shop machine some off the head ? Or at a minimum swap to a .030 gasket.
11-11.5 will help the low end tq on those 640's.

You can also advance the cam a few degrees.. Gear cams are easier as you can get different offset keys pretty cheap.

I'll inquire with him about those options. I like the idea of the gear advance for simplicity or the .030.

Not sure what you are saying but if the 030 is a head shave do it first or do them both.. With a dyna, you should be able to run 11 to 1 easy. I run a 131 FXR at 11.0 (have run it at 11.5) with the 640 adv 2 and a 116 dyna at 11.3 with an SnS 625.. Biggest problem with both was the 5 piece SnS cranks spread.. The newer SnS cranks are better.

I was referring to the head gasket if it's not already at .030 in the kit. I'm not shaving the heads for sure. Advancing the cam is not out of the question. I'll go with what the guy that's doing the work and tuning it recommends. The only reason I'm getting this 124 Is because my extended warranty is covering a good bit , I'm just paying the balance on the 124 upgrade.

I was running a 127 in my FXR @ 10.25
it put down 120hp 130 tq. No too shabby. I know more squeeze = more power but I think Cdonis lives down the street from me and it's been 105+ for the last week. My ccp was 195 ish with compression relifs. Sometimes starting was a chore.

I didn't realize you had motor problems... What happened to the 103?

started making noise, thought maybe a lifter. After further inspection I was at a loss. Took it in and Everthing in the top end was fine, then the pump was scarred and run out was way out of spec. I just stopped by the shop and talked a bit about some more squeeze. I think I'll stay run of the mill. Going straight up with the kit, and a 58 se with 5.3s. I'm not shocked, I rode the snot out of it.
