Inexperienced rider lookin for some seasoned opinions
Hey all, before you guys yell at me, I just want you to know I have done a lot of research and have an idea of which one I want but I'm just looking for some opinions plz. I also know there's already a lot of talk on this subject but I'm still learning so try to cut me some slack. Im looking for Cam Chain Tensioner kit for my 03 Night Train TC88 and leaning towards the Woods kit and wondering if anyone has used his kit or recommend an alternative. I do plan on doing big bore kit next year ( 98ci ) and dont know what would work best or work at all in both my 88 that I have now and that I can also use in the 98ci once I upgrade this winter. I also plan on doing cam plate, oil pump and cams and would really appreciate some pointers! Like I said, I know this has benn brought up quite a few times but I've never seen any discussion on my style bike and I know that matters. Oh, I usually ride solo and I kinda ride HARD, ot all the time but I do like getting on it. ( often lol ) Thanks a ton guys!!

Yep, Cyco shoes, and install new cam bearings.
Wait, for the winter and do the 98" in one swoop.
An Andrews 21, for instance is a great plug/play 88" cam, but better choices once cubes and compression are introduced.

Piling on here but in addition to what has been previously posted, no need for a new cam plate. Do as others have posted, retain the OEM cam plate, replace outer cam bearings as well and replace the OEM pump with a Daytona unit with higher capacity. Good advice from predatornut on cams; if you cam the 88" now, be prepared to replace it with another cam set for the 98". A possible exception might be the Andrews 48.
Aren't you glad you asked? Back to the drawing board.

I did mine a while back I kept used the stock cam plate and put in Cyco shoes S&S adjustable pushrods and S&S lifters and S&S 509 cams. Kept the stock oil pump as well. When I do my big bore I think I am gonna do a 107 or 124 cause by the time I am ready to do it the crank will moste likely need to be addressed as I have over 90k on the bike now.
