Default rocker cover bolt leaking oil

2013 street glide with 103 with 8000 miles has oil coming out of right front rocker cover bolt. I replaced both gaskets and it still comes out of the same bolt

The bottom of that bolt hole is open to the inside of the motor.. Pull the bolt, clean including under the washer and place a small of permatex black gasket maker between the washer and the cover and between the head of the bolt and washer. Let dry and peel off the access. It's worth looking at the washer and head bolt surfaces for small nick or dings and replacing with new if suspicious. Also HD chromed covers have really sucko surfaces for the bolts, if bad or pealing the gasket maker is likely the only answer short of cover replacement..

You could first check the torque value of that bolt before digging into it. If it's not 15-18'then maybe the threads are compromised and a heli coil insert could fix. Just a thought. Above post could perhaps work but I would replace the washer and bolt at a minimum.

I have.. BTW, I only tq to about 12 fp... The cover ain't going to fly off on you and the lower castings aren't that great.. Chrome can have ripples. If leaking from the gasket surface, rub the cover on some sand paper and a plate of class.

Nice thing about the Evo rocker cover gasket sets is that they come with gaskets and Copper washers just for that problem...

Honestly, I've never ever had a leak there. Maybe more should do better maintenance on their ride.....

So what kind of maintenance do you do to keep it from leaking?

I go through the bike every 1000 miles checking for loose bolts, axle nuts, leaks, fluid levels. A vibrating Evo tends loosen things up... I thought most checked all that ****... Most of the time leaks occur because of loose bolts...
