Default Sea foam top engine cleaner

02 flhtcui with 103000 miles on the stage one (powervision) 88. I put a camera in the cylinders and found a fair bit of carbon build up. I wanted to try out the sea foam through the intake trick, but the can warns to spray it downstream of maf sensors. Safe to assume that it'll foul my map sensor as well? What have others done?

I sprayed it directly into each port of the TB with no negative effect to MAP or O2 sensors.
Spray a good bit and then a heavy dose and shut down for a soak.
Lots of smoke.

Yes.
Or you can use the vacuum port on the TB.
There is a thread on here with detailed info.
A member really went the Xtra mile to clean up carbon build up.
Do a search on Google for carbon build up and put HD forums after it.

Yeah..
It took me a while to figure out Google yields better results than the search function on the site.
Did you find it?
I can't remember who posted but it was very informative.

I used Seafoam for carbs which had been setting for too long. Used more than I needed to. Didn't do one bit of good, and had to have the carbs taken off and have them ultrasonically cleaned in the hot chemical bath...big bucks.

Maybe that because it's not a carb cleaner.. It's not bad for carbonizing the combustion chamber.. For carbs, use Berryman's Chemtool or even straight lacquer thinner will work.. If the jets are plugged, a soak in carb cleaner is about the best..

We carry Seafoam in the retail area.
It does a good job of removing carbon from the chamber, and pistons.
When cleaning a carb, NAPA has a kit with a dip basket, and a 1 gallon(?) container.
Soak a carb/parts for 24 hrs.........super-clean.

Sounds crazy, but a good soak in Pinesol will clean most gunked jets and carb bodies. I didn't believe until I tried it myself.
