Unhappy with Build Results

ok, got my new E-Pipe discs from FuelMoto yesturday and scored an orignal bolt kit from ebay, so back in the dyno tonight. with the 15 original plates i had to start with it was down to 85hp and 94 tq,,,after working my way up to 15FM plates and 3WB plates for a total of 18 plates with a closed endcap, hp and tq are within .2 hp and tq from the runs with the tuned pro-pipe. curves are so close its not even worth posting up the graph and this is with NO fuel or ignition tuning, just tuning the pipe. I cant go any further cause my bolts aren't long enough to add any more plates!!!! I'm gonna pick up longer bolts in the AM, so I'll be back at it again tomorrow night, so I'll post up again if it gets any better yet, have fun.

The open end cap is a cap that goes on after the disk and does have maybe a 1 1/2" opening that will still create back pressure but will also let it breath a little better on top..... It's sort of like the best of both worlds you can tune low end as well as to top very well... Here's a pic of my Supertrapp...

cool thanks for the tip,,,back to it tonight it likes 19 closed, or 18 with no cap, left the last closing plate out and it made a hair more, but was much louder.....might have to see if i can find something that i can buy or mod,,,,i dont want to cut up what i have in case i want it to stay quiet,,,,i'll check and see if fuel moto has something.

I wouldn't recommend leaving the end "open" unless you have the proper open end cap that is shaped in such a way that backpressure is maintained. It does make a difference. On the supermeg, an open end cap is equivalent to using about eight discs. On my last bike I ran 22 discs and the open end cap which was my bike's sweet spot, proven by the dyno

ok, after installing the white bros E-pipe and fully tuning it with a PV the results are in........up to 91hp and 101 tq with the same curves, not worth posting. Not a bad over all experiment and gave me some more time learning the PV. After starting out with a bad ecm when doing the first tune with the PC3 well. So far so good, but to get any more I'm gonna need the heads.....we'll see if i keep the tw54's after the heads. have fun!

You said "very nice curve and the bike runs well". No disrespect, but how does that make you unhappy? Getting almost 1 HP per CI on a motor that small is pretty impressive. Chasing sheet numbers is a never ending battle that gets very expensive. My recommendation would be to just go S&S 124" and end the battle. Once you go 110, you'll get bored. Once you go 113, you'll get bored. Once you go 117, you'll get bored. So on and so on.....
