ill have to look on amazon,if I see any of this I will report them to S&S and they`ll loose their dealer status.been a S&S dealer for 35+ years and don't need this crap.personally, ide be VERY wary of buying S&S parts off amazon (personally,we wouldn't do a motor here if bought off the internet)

Just look up S&S and whatever parts you're looking for and you'll find many dealers selling. Double check the part #. From cams to big bore kits you'll find them. Currently S&S #900-0568 124" kit w/heads sells for $5230. From S&S. Same part # sells for $3923. On Amazon with free shipping.

Well I've learned my lesson. I will only buy online if I plan to do the job myself. It's just hard to justify spending $1000s more for the same stuff. My next question how does it work if someone bought from J&P cycles? Not trying to start trouble but it seems unfair. It should be the opposite. The customer should get a better price from the builder because the customer plans on spending lots of money in labor.

Agree to some extent, but remember, a builder has to keep the lights on, pay for a space, etc. Not to say that some charge more than they should be, but an online retailer doesn't have the same "footprint" to take care of most times.

Yes I understand and when it's a few hundred dollars difference I'm fine with that.

Well what started as an honest question has turned into something bigger. I do feel bad but at the time I only had money for parts. I've been trying to get this for 8 years so when I found that deal i jumped on it. It still took 9 months to save up the labor cost. I don't just have $9k to throw at my bike at any given time.

Just thinking out loud but times and markets change. Dealers and shops are usually slow to adapt. Whats wrong with the shop buying off Amazon and adding a reasonable markup? Paying huge markups just to support an old business model doesn't make sense and isn't going to happen very long.

Some people charge full MSRP, some don't, it's as simple as that.

Sell a few for a lot, or sell a lot for a few....pretty hard to stay competitive with high volume dealers.

The shops are getting it for less than what's on amazon.
