Default 80 cubic inch with 74 in jugs

Is it possible to run an 80 cubic inch Shovelhead lower end with 74 cubic inch jugs and heads and what would need to be done to do that

I'd bore the 74" cylinders to 3.500"(or as piston skirt dimension would require).

Because that is the bore size of an 80" Shovel, of which the OP has the crank.

can it be done sure.
when you install big bore onto cases that are not opened up for it, you bore the cases to accept the jug. now if you reverse the situation then you have to compensate for the larger case hole since everything must run true as any offset will cause issues. also, the fasteners must align as well as if not will lead to distortion as things are tightened up.
