Took my engine out in pieces, and reinstalled it the same way. Stripped down to the crankcase it is still hefty and awkward.

Breather bolt holes are plenty strong and put the motor at the right angle for install and removal.

Santee FXR frame.

The wood block makes removing the pan difficult. Wood block on scissor jack for removing and installing engine. Strap holding it up for remove and install of pan. Also I like the strap in case I need to move the bike off the lift to make room for another one. Can’t always just let them sit while cranks or heads are out for work.

IMO welding and plugs are not a bandaid for a loose press fit. I really don’t know what welding does. Plugs are to help keep pin round and constant, equal pressure to the wheels. Doesn’t make fit tighter.

If you look at the pic.. You can see the wood block.. It's more like a stick.. You can pull the pan if desired..

Welding is IMO.. The plugs are good tho.. Even the new SnS cranks are plugged. Welding only tends to crack. It won't stop the flywheels from spreading.

This is a little off topic, but can someone please explain the trans oil xfer? I gather it xfers to the primary? But how?

I'm not a W8 owner but was VERY impressed with the one I test rode. A buddy has one he rides the $hit out of (stone stock 107 RG) and so gar no issues.

I used to be a Mercedes Benz tech. Any time a new model came out, there were issues that had to be ironed out despite many hours of R&D and pre-produvtion testing. Doesn't make it any less frustrating to be one of the buyers with problems, but it's the nature of vehicle manufacturing....
