Cam change done....oil temp seems high...need remap?
2005 FLHTC trike Lehman conversion.
Finally installed S&S 509C cams, oil pump, upgraded backing plate and hydraulic chain tensioners, hi-flow air cleaner kit and a pair of used slip on mufflers. Also installed a HD oil cooler kit, as this trike has always run pretty warm in the summertime.
Did nothing to the PC3 that was on the trike when I bought it.
Performance improvement is really apparent, am well pleased with that.
Concern is that after 100 mile ride at 58 degree outside air temp, my oil temp was sitting at 240 F.
Prior to the mods, oil temp ran about the same at outside temps of 85-90 F. And this was before installation of the oil cooler.
Would the performance upgrades generate enough additional heat to cause this? Do I need to do something with the PC3?
Elevation here is 5,200'
Thanks
