Default Zippers 468 Cam With HD Stage 4 Kit for M8 touring platform

Hey folks. I understand the Zippers 468 to be a bolt in cam. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this combination. Will be using a 2 into 1 Billet cat and Thundermax tuner.

My understanding is that the 515 cam that comes with the stage 4 kit is pretty soft below 3000 RPMs and looking for a great bolt in replacement that will pull to redline. I’m not a mechanic so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I will be using the existing Harley pushrods.

Thanks.

I would contact Zippers as the 11:1 compression ratio might be a little to high for that camshaft. The cam is a bolt in unit for stock engines but you talked about stage 4.

They work well in a 107" M8, when used with www.technoresearch.com.

Thanks Scott. I actually have a ThunderMax for this bike. Do you think it will complement this 468 in an SE Stage IV build? Also, do you think this cam would do ok at 11:1 compression vs stock 107 compression

I would worry about in the summer heat and traffic. Not saying there is something wrong with the camshaft at all, it works well in a 107 but going to a 114 stage IV kit @ 11:1 is really to much for it. I've run our TTS 150 (which is a larger design) in the combination your asking about and while it runs like no tomorrow, I do not recommend it as it's not what you should use IMHO. So if you decide to run it be careful is the best I can say to you.

So, taking into consideration the information provided in this thread, I dedided to go another cam route. I ended up speaking with TR from T-Man Performance and ended up ordering his 226 cam along with a cometic gasket that will help bump the compression to 11:3. I will let you all know how it works out. No Dyno planned at the moment due to going the Thundermax route, but I may have it put on the Dyno up at Americade next month. If so, I will post numbers at that time for anyone who may be interested.

Thanks again to all for your input. Really appreciate it!
