FROM BAGGERS MAGAZINE-
S&S crate 124" with FI Throttle Hog in a bagger-

The name says it all: Hot Rod. And that was exactly the reason we ordered up the beefy powerplant for this performance-based bagger. The S&S T-Series 124ci engine for 2007–later Big Twins features special head machining to fit stock length intake manifolds (S&S manifold size 405), stock-style breathing system (stock breather spacing and function is compatible with stock and most performance air cleaners), Super Stock T2 Crankcase with three-piece flywheels, S&S high-flow oil pump and cam cover, S&S 640 Easy Start gear drive cams, and, best of all, a stock Twin Cam 96 bolt pattern to make installation a breeze. Our specific S&S motor features the .640 Easy Start cams with a 10.8:1 compression ratio.
S&S motor test

Baggers, yeah, Baggers...with EFI-

After all was said and done, we ran our performance Road Glide with the new S&S motor (T124) and other performance components on the dyno and came back with some pretty stellar results. A stock 2013 Road Glide makes roughly 70 hp and 88 pound-feet of torque. After the very easy installation procedure of the T124, 66mm Throttle Hog, PowerTune duals, and race/tour slip-on mufflers, we achieved a whopping 131.7 hp and 128.17 pound-feet. (S&S DYNO would be LESS...)-That’s an increase of 61.7 hp and 40.17 pound-feet of torque, which is proof that the right performance components can make some serious power!

BTW, you arent one of those guys who think your FI will beat a carb set up on the street are ya? Cubes to Cubes?

They did it by shear volume, changed many a set of S&S rods with bad crankpins on the old 5 pc flywheels, got a bucket of full of cores. I will say they've gotten it dialed down a lot better than the shovelhead days .

With the 124 kits I'll be real curious to see what plays out with the sumping issue.

What Max was refering to was the T/C cranks.

I guess you have to work with what they give you.
That is what I am use to seeing. I haven't seen the power out of these m8's like the TC's.

Stg2 cam with right exh matched seem quite good value, compared to the diminishing returns of the bigger builds/cost

Surprised about that nasty dip, looks poor effort for a package sell as tho the cam is not right for that set up, but guess the top end is all stock inj/TB/heads, which may not suit just throwing on the 124 kit ?

This^^^^^^^^^^
As are most the rest of the parts S&S produces...There is only one big dog on the porch, and the rest are puppies.
As far as their (S&S) flywheels (heard a couple posts questioning them)....I ran a stock, EVO unwelded S&S to 201 HP, Run a Prostock RACE crank to over 230 (Darkhorse massaged), and my current daily driven TWIN CAM to over 170-Un-welded, untouched and out of the crate. ZERO ISSUES. day after day after day...S&S all day.
Funny as hell....
1.People bag on S&S on one hand and use their parts with the other-
2. People are critical of S&S parts but when asked (in this example cranks), who they would rather use.....its crickets..lol......

As long as you don’t abuse SnS cranks I’m sure they’re fine. I had a TC 124 not crate 146/146 bagger that due to excessive wheelies crapped out the crank pin. Was advised to limit or nix the abuse. So SnS cranks I guess have their limits. Builder can verify if there’s any doubt to my claim. Right Scott?..............right.

What do you consider abuse? Wheelies?? What about WOT roll-ons? Which SnS cranks are you talking about? 5 piece pressed together TCs or the 3 piece?

Current 3 piece wheels. And I’m only stating what was advised back to me after I shredded the pin. “ limit the wheelies and abuse”. What else is there to know, simple as that.
