Not totally sure, but wouldn't a shorter piston skirt create issues other than piston slap when the gap between piston and cylinder is larger?

I seem to remember, some years back, a post that featured an HD piston that had flipped almost 90 degrees (not necessarily because of this issue)

The 2 big issues are rattle and ring seal. If they turn sideways they are really too loose..

If your jugs look good on the outside just get some over size Pistons (not big bore) & have your jugs sized to them.

And that is exactly what i am doing after other people in here beat me over the head with the same advice, thankfully, with the patience of saints.

How ever, i do have an additional question. with my jugs going 10 over, should i be looking for an exact 3.885 top end seal kit? or does the standard 103 top end seal kit work? i cant remember if that head to jug seal has or will have an overhang due to the machining.

Use the Cometic MLS gasket for the standard 3.875" bore; suggest a .030" for a slight compression bump which those 57 cams will like and the thinner head gasket will tighten up the valve train stack up.
