This is a hard to understand post that I started (and I’m sorry for all the bickering), so I’ll take this response as the definitive one.
There sure seems to be a lot of very high power builds popping up here from the usual big builders and I’d be scared to death to go on a long trip with the stock bottom ends then.

So what are the usual big builders using? If it's a stock M8 crank then we should feel confident of setting out on that trans-global trip with not a care in the World.....
