Engine Mechanical TopicsDiscussion for motor builds, cams, head work, stripped bolts and other engine related issues. The good and the bad. If it goes round and around or up and down, post it here.
The management here invents these one post characters to up the post count.
In turn, this invites more advertisers, intern, this place charges more money.
I guess there might not be anything wrong with it..perhaps a little devious.
The 02s don't have a CPS. Did you mean CKS? Plug wire, plug, coil, and ECU/ignition module for spark. If EFI, injector or injector wiring. Carbed? Probably not fuel if running on the other cylinder. Next would be compression.. Remember, you need pressure, spark and fuel to fire a cylinder.
Harley identifies the cam sensor as a CPS and the crank sensor as a CKS. Max is accurate.
That said, I never knew that it was the piston that fired. I guess the front cylinder is not firing?
As mentioned the part is the CKS. Also another thing to note would be that if CKS had issues both cylinders would likely have issues. The safe method for firing cylinders on an HD is to fire the front if there is a doubt as to which cylinder on the compression stoke.. Firing front cylinder on rear cylinder timing would be the same as advancing the timing 45 degrees.
