They work well in my 2005 Electra Glide either a 0.30 head gasket Rinehart Bub 7 True Duals Screamin Eagle AC Power Camander 3 USB pulls nice even 2 up & packed I never got a dyno sheet it was a favor and works. Actually probably has more in it ? Taking it down this winter and doing a 95 with CR575's & a set of Heads by by Wes Brown Cycle Rama and a Dark horse Crank .... I am selling these 510g cams I also have another 95" kit aND a nice set of ported heads, Vance and Hines Pipes for sale.....

I think they were originally designed with the 88" in mind, but was wondering if they were any better in a 96 or 103?
thanks

I believe so. You have to remember that the Tq. Curve will stay very similar in any engine size and will increase proportionately as cubic inches increase. As the displacement increases the cams will act Milder with the 510s in my 88 most people can't even hear them or notice any difference in the idle quality. Head work really wakes these cams up. My suggestion is to pull the heads it only takes about an extra hour do a cleanup on the ports a good multi angle valve job and a bowl blend your only looking at about $300.00 to do the heads reassemble it with a 0.030 gasket and have a Good tune done. There is no other modification that will give a better return on your money than Port work and a compression bump. Head work alone will pay off Big Time no matter what else you do Every Engine I do starts with a crank True,Weld and Balance gear drive cams and oil pump upgrade Topped with a set of mildly prepped heads. And Usually a New Rear Tire LOL

Thanks Marvolous, I never considered pulling the heads for headwork. If I do that, I might as well do the complete cam swap myself as well.
what special tools will I need for a complete cam swap?
thanks

If you have a 96" or 103" you should get cams with more lift. The .510 cams were the drop ins for pre 2005 models. There's a large selection to go with.

My 09 ultra classic was originally a 96" then the PO had her upgraded to a 103" w 510g cams...Now the more research I do it seems the 551g would have been a better choice. Not unhappy with the power as Im not a speed demon but not sure why they chose the 510's.

Anywhere an S&S .510 is used, a .570 will produce more, if the springs will accept that lift.
Either will thrive at 10.2 cr.

as far as "cam only" builds go,your a lot better off bumping compression to better match the wide variety of cams out there that you will actually be able to feel a significant difference
