Maybe call S&S if random Internet forum opinions you asked for isn't what you want to hear.

I never asked if i should run them the way they are. I asked if anyone knew how many thousands undersize that the undersize gears are.

Not likely to achieve S&S tolerances with .002" runout. Ran off the shelf S&S (Andrews grinds them BTW) at .0025" runout and had little whine which was barely audible. Even when runout grew to .0045", no issues, just a little more whine.

Wait a minute... Unless I'm reading your first post incorrectly, it sounds like your concerned the .0005" clearance at 12 and 6 is too tight so you ordered an undersized gear. Now you've got .0005" all the way around (meaning the backlash got tighter), and you're saying it's perfect?

Back when I did a gear drive TC I had between .001 and .002" backlash on the big gear at 12, 9, 6, and 3, which I thought was perfect.

No the clearance at 12 and 6 is right it was the no clearance at 3 and 9 I wanted to make right. For some odd reason when I put the undersize gear on it was .0005 all the way around. Call is .0005 to ,001. well within spec. I didnt make the gear all I know is its what I needed and is what worked for me
