Cam Chain Tensioners...99-06 only?

I have heard about the issues on here with the Cam Chain tensioners wearing and so on.
my question was most all I have seen was for 99-06
my bike is a 07 Heritage is this something I need to look into also? if so anyone have a good read somewhere on how to check or possibly replace if needed? **** has about 18k on the clock

'07 and up models came with the later hydraulic tensioners and roller chains. Tensioner pads are still consumable pieces of hardware but not subject to instant catastrophic failure like the early Delron pads. At 18K miles, no need to check IMHO unless you are just curious. Check at 30K-35K miles and, if you think replacement is necessary, replace with a set of CYCO pads.:icon_wink:

2nd. I wouldn't worry about it at this point.

I'm with the two gents above ^.

A side note is that 2006 Dynas got the hydraulic upgrade before all the other models did in 2007.

Awesome that makes me feel much better
I just kept reading how "these years" were subject to the tensioner failures and wanted to be sure.
makes me feel much better now knowing that. thanks fellas

tensioners are tensioners and they all will wear out eventually.while not as trouble some as the 99-06 tensioners, they still need to be inspected from time to time,id look at them every 20K miles

That's how often I check the tensioners on mine. ('01 Dyna)
I keep telling guys that they are a mainenance item and need to be checked, but they keep crying that they should last forever and that they are not in fact a regular maintenance item because they couldn't find it in the owners manual.

Depends on the chain burrs.
Some crapped out earlier than others but the average is the 25-30K mark initially.
Cyco shoes.
