Default Rocker box gasket leak 103

Howdy,

The dealership service pointed out a small seep of oil from both rockerbox covers (fore and aft). Replacing the gaskets looks pretty straightforward (pull tank, remove covers, clean and replace gasket, install covers, install tank.
It doesn’t look like the $500 job they quoted. Am I missing something?
Should I do anything else while I’m in there?

2013 FLSTC 44,000 miles. 103B

Thank you

Not missing anything. I have since installed a quick disconnect at the cross over fuel line to make removing the tank much easier (not have to deal with fuel going everywhere) since removing the tank provides unobstructed access but you might be able to get away with raising the tank high enough for access. However, if you do remove the tank consider installing a quick disconnect at the cross over while you have the tank off. I would never pay $500 for that job; to easy as you noted and a DIY job for sure.

I think I would try raising the tank an re-torquing the rocker box bolts first since the gaskets are "seeping" and not leaking. JMHO.

Thank you.
I’ll re-torque the bolts and see what happens. ;-)
