pushrods on 88 cu
i want to remove my cam cover to inspect the tensioners on a softail i bought....question...if it turns out i have removble pushrods...can i remove cam plate by just loosening the pushrods all the way?...i hate like hell doing this just to check a dam tensioner....but harley got us living like this...this twin cam has been a pain my my ***** after ripping off half the bike to change a drive belt.....BURIED STARTER BOLTS DIDNT HELP....WTF HARLEY!

might not have to remove the cam plate at all. take the cam chest cover off, look at the one tensioner shoe. then get a little dentist mirror to check the back one. if you plan on replacing them, id go with the Cyco shoes or upgrade to the 07 and later cam plate with the hydro tensioners.

i might go with the cut them off version.....seems way easier...i have carbed bike so tank is easier to remove just seems easier...is it hard to install and adjust new push rods?...

You dont need to mess with the pushrods if youre just inspecting the tensioners. Simply pull out the cam cover inspect the front tensioner, and as previously mentioned use a dentist mirror to check the back.
